I open a limited number of Game Plan Calls each week to ensure depth, focus, and genuine support.
If booking isnât available, it means my calendar is currently full and will reopen soon.
This is for you ifâŚ
â Youâre feeling stuck, scattered, or unsure how to move forward
â You have ideas, data, or drafts â but no clear structure or plan
â You want to finish your thesis with clarity (not panic)
â Youâre unsure what level of support you actually need
â You want grounded guidance from someone who understands research deeply
This may not be the right fit if youâre looking for free advice, generic productivity tips, or a purely motivational chat.
What the Game Plan Call actually is:
AÂ focused working session designed to bring clarity (not pressure).
During our time together, we work on your thesis, your goals, and your constraints.
This is practical, personalised, and grounded in real research experience.
Hereâs exactly what we do during your Game Plan Call:
1. Clarify where you actually are
We identify your true research AND thesis stageânot where you think you âshouldâ beâand surface whatâs helping or quietly holding you back.
2. Build your personalised thesis plan and timeline
Your plan is built specifically for your project, discipline, and life constraints.
No generic templates. No one-size-fits-all advice.
3. Clarify your best next step
We look honestly at whether your next step is:
-
independent implementation
-
 community support
-
or deeper mentoring
If CTS is a fit, Iâll outline what that could look like.
If not, you still leave with a plan you can act on immediately.
Iâm not giving you a template.
Iâm building your specific research and thesis Game Plan based on:
-
your discipline and methodology
-
your research stage
-
your goals (submission, career, wellbeing)
-
your capacity and constraints
Youâll walk away with:
â A clear snapshot of where you are in your thesis
â A mapped realistic plan for the next phase
â A timeline aligned to your desired submission or career goals
â Clarity on how to DIY or with deeper mentoring and supportÂ
â Relief from finally seeing the path forward
Many students say this session alone saves them weeks (sometimes months!) of uncertainty.
What happens after the Game Plan Call?
You decide.
You may simply take your plan and move forward on your own.
Or, if we both feel itâs a good fit, I can share with you our ongoing support and mentoring options.
Â
Either way, there is no obligation beyond this session.
Who will you be working with
Izelle Labuschagne, Ph.D.
Founder of Complete Thesis SupportÂ
She is an accomplished neuroscientist and research mentor, with over 16 years of experience and with a publication record spanning Nature and The Lancet. She has supervised doctoral candidates to successful completionâmany passing without corrections just like she didâand has served as an international examiner for over 12 years. She brings a strong passion to support and empower students and early-stage researchers.
Her expertise spans quantitative and qualitative research design and analysis, and the full arc of postgraduate supervision across disciplines.
Izelle is a very experienced international examiner of all other types of theses (Masters, Doctorate, and Honours) and has been a panel member or Chair of many student milestone reviews across many universities and institutes.
She brings deep working knowledge of what examiners look for, what committees challenge, and where candidates most commonly fail. That insight shapes every session in the Game Plan sessionâfrom refining research questions to defending findings under pressure.
Izelle works with postgraduate students who are serious about producing rigorous, publishable research. Her approach is direct, technically grounded, and built around results.Â
CTS exists to support students not just to finish, but to do so with confidence, clarity, and integrity.
This work is calm, human, and grounded, because thatâs how sustainable progress actually happens.
